Quick answer
What is Chemical Peels?
A chemical peel applies a controlled exfoliating solution to remove damaged outer skin layers, revealing smoother, more even skin. Light peels heal in about 1–7 days; medium peels cause temporary redness, tightness and swelling. Peels reduce the appearance of acne scars and make pores less noticeable.
Chemical peels use acids such as glycolic, salicylic, lactic or TCA in measured strengths. The right peel depends on your skin type, concern and how much downtime you can take.
Peels are effective at reducing the appearance of acne scars. A peel cannot change the size of your pores, but it can make them less noticeable.
